For the peppermint candy (top layer)

  • 1/2 teaspoon of peppermint extract
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

How to prepare this recipe

Butter and line a baking sheet with baking paper.

In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt white chocolate, condensed milk and butter. Stir often to keep the chocolate from burning, until completely melted.

Remove the pot from the heat, add the sifted Matcha tea. Stir until ingredients are perfectly blended.

Pour the mixture into the baking dish and let it sit for 3 hours until solid.

Once it has solidified, start preparing the top layer. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the white chocolate, 2-3 tablespoons of condensed milk and 1 teaspoon of butter. Stir often until melted.

Remove the saucepan from the heat and whisk in adding the peppermint extract and vanilla extract.

Pour this layer over the solidified Matcha layer, smoothing it out with a spatula. Let stand for another 2 hours until the Matcha has firmed up.

To decorate: melt the white chocolate in the microwave. Once melted, add the sifted Matcha directly onto the chocolate, and stir until perfectly combined.

Using a spoon, drizzle the chocolate over the surface of the cake, being careful to avoid large lumps.

Chop up some colored candy and sprinkle the cake with these pretty, vibrant chips.

Once it’s all perfectly cooled, cut into squares and enjoy!
