Creamy Apple Chai and Black Tea drink

What better way to get cozy and in the holiday spirit than making yourself a warm, creamy apple chai and black tea drink! Made from fresh crispy apples, aromatic chai spices, and Hong Cha roasted black tea. This beautiful black tea has a sweet taste of caramel, chocolate, and nuts, which pairs perfectly with this warm and comforting drink.

Ingredients (serves 2)

Chai Apple Juice
  • 3 apples (anything except Granny Smith)
  • 150ml water
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tsp whole cloves
  • 4 cardamom pods
Black Tea Milk
Whipped Cream
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream (refrigerated)
  • 1/4 cup confectioner’s sugar

How to make a Creamy Apple Chai & Black Tea drink

Chai Apple Juice

  1. Juice the apples in a juicer. If you don’t own a juicer, you can blend the apples in a blender and then squeeze the juices through a nut milk bag.
  2. Pour the apple juice in a small saucepan with 150ml of water.
  3. Add cinnamon sticks, cloves, and cardamom pods to the saucepan.
  4. Simmer with a lid for 15-20 minutes to integrate the spices into the juice.
  5. When finished, strain to remove spices from the apple juice.

Black Tea Milk

  1. While the apple juice is simmering, pour milk into a small saucepan and put on low-medium heat.
  2. Once the milk is hot, turn the stove off and add the black tea to the milk. Simmer for 6 minutes while stirring occasionally.
  3. Strain milk through sieve to remove tea leaves.
  4. Add vanilla extract and maple syrup to milk.

Fresh Whipped Cream

  1. Put a large bowl in the refrigerator to chill.
  2. Add heavy whipping cream and confectioner’s sugar to the chilled bowl.
  3. Use an electric mixer (handheld or standing) and start whipping at a low speed. Slowly increase the speed as you go.
  4. Beat until firm, 1-3 minutes.

To Finish:

  1. Combine the chai apple juice and black tea milk mixtures.
  2. Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream and sprinkle cinnamon on top.
  3. Enjoy!
